User experience (UX) design is a multidisciplinary field that involves the design and development of products, services, and systems that are both functional and enjoyable to use. It focuses on creating a positive and seamless experience for the user as they interact with a product or service.
Interaction design, on the other hand, is a specific aspect of UX design that focuses on how the user interacts with and controls a product or service. It involves designing the flow of interactions between the user and the product or service, as well as the visual design of the interface that the user interacts with. If UX is the umbrella, interaction design is the focus on the design of interactions.
In other words, UX design encompasses a wide range of design disciplines, including interaction design, which aims to create a cohesive and satisfying experience for the user. Both disciplines are concerned with understanding the needs and goals of the user, but interaction design specifically focuses on how the user interacts with the product or service to achieve those goals.
